My Love Affair With The Caribbean

"Bird's" Eye View of Jamaica

My first trip to the Caribbean was to Jamaica when I was 17 years old. I spent a week at an All Inclusive resort soaking up the sun, snorkeling, making friends, and having a blast. It was this first trip that really made me fall in love with the Caribbean. The people, the music, the sun and sand… there’s just something about the Caribbean that really makes me feel at home. I make it back every year and each time I go I find it harder and harder to come back.

There a many positive aspects of an All Inclusive vacation to the Caribbean. The first is that the Caribbean is one of the most beautiful destinations on earth. If you’re looking for sunshine and sand it really sets the standard. Endless stretches of white sand beaches are definitely one of the biggest draws. Another great aspect of a Caribbean vacation is that you can go All Inclusive, meaning that you can book a vacation package where all of your food, drinks (alcoholic and otherwise), activities, and entertainment are all included in one upfront price. You don’t have to worry about the hassle of how much money to bring with you because you’ve already taken care of it before you left. The third and most important aspect of the Caribbean is the vibe. There’s a laid back, easy going, feeling that really allows you to completely escape the stresses of real life. I’d argue that the draw of the Caribbean is really more about the vibe and people than it is about the actual destination.

One thing that I make sure to tell prospective Caribbean travelers is to make as many friends as possible. You’d be surprised how many people come back from vacation with lifelong friendships. Many travelers even plan future trips with each other so that they can relive the experience again and again. I’d argue that I have more friends in the Caribbean than any other place in the world. It's one of the many reasons that I continue my love affair with the Caribbean.
